Equipment Access Options for Copiers

Summary: Learn about the choices available for access to Copier Program machines.

Copy machines may be set up in the following ways:

• Slug Card Access using a card terminal: allows for copying by anyone with a Slug Card. Details are described in Slug Card Options.
• Code Access with an accumulator: for University business use by faculty, staff, and qualified graduate students. The Copier Program installs (on the copier) an accumulator, which allows access to copying by using codes. For each code, you will need to provide the following information:
  • FOAPAL to be Recharged
  • User Name
  • Account Name
  • Business Office or Budget Manager (where monthly reports are to be sent)

  Credit Slug Card or Code information can be changed with advance notice by contacting the Copier Program by email at ps_copiers@ucsc.edu.

• Sole source copier with no access equipment: for individual departments who want direct access to copying with recharges to go to one FOAPAL only.
• VEND Copiers accept cash or a Slug Card. Cash copies are 15¢ per copy, copies made by Debit Slug Card are 8¢ per copy, and Credit Slug Cards recharge at 6¢ per copy. See Locations of Debit Slug Card Service Centers & Copiers.
