ITS Alliance with Copier Program for Multifunction Copiers

Summary: Lean about features of multifunction copiers, and the roles and responsibilities of the Copier Program and ITS when these copiers are requested by a department/unit.

Multifunction Copier (MFC) Features

• Copier
• Scanner - to email
• Printer
• FAX

Note: A multifunction copier will not print from Banner or FIS, so cannot replace the need for a departmental printer.

Copier Program Roles and Responsibilities

1. Notify ITS Divisional Liaison (DL) prior to ordering a network MFC.
2. Verify that a power source and an active data line are available.
3. Request Static IP and Host Name from ITS.
4. Request email account.
5. Program copier with network and email parameters, and test.
6. Train local users to use MFC to copy, scan, print and FAX.
7. Arrange for installation print drivers, with DL/Local IT Specialist's (LITS) agreement.

ITS/DL/LITL Roles and Responsibilities

1. Provide Static IP and Host Name information.
2. Provide email account information.
3. Support connectivity for Copier Program and Department/Unit.
